Hold My Hand
Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 4:45PM "HOLD MY HAND" was the last song my uncle Michael every played to me in person. He was SO PROUD OF IT. I'll never forget that smile he had on his face as the song played through the speakers (in his room) at the Palms Hotel in Vegas. After the song was over, he asked me what I honestly thought of it. I told him it was a worldwide number one song and that it was going to be a huge. He was so happy to hear that.
I did give the song one slight criticism though. I told my uncle that he needed to be singing more in the chorus and at the end of the song... lol. I said that we (the fans) would want to hear his voice more. :-)
"Hold my Hand" will be officially released tomorrow, November 15th. I'm definitely excited to buy it as soon as it becomes available knowing that the moment I play it, I will instantly remember the day my uncle first played it to me. It's these memories of him that I hold on to and cherish with all my heart. Words can't express how much I love and miss my uncle Michael.

I had heard this song before and loved it then, so I am excited to have it now as an "official" release. You are right about one thing for sure, we definitely would love hearing his voice more, so that was a criticism worth sharing with him. ;)

First i would like to say how amazingly strong you and your familiy are to deal with all the bs of the past year. I doubt i would have been able to hold it together. So proud of you for that takes someone very special to be so open .
To hear this brings tears to even the strongest of people. As fans i know we all feel very grateful for all you share making us feel that llttle bit closer to Michael for that all we can say is thankyou. x
Hearing stories like this reminds us that when he was here, (although the hardship) he felt there were the days were he felt happy and excited brings joy and smiles to us all. x

You are right. The only sing the fans want is to have MJ singing. His voice was SO UNIQUE. There aren't voice like him anymore.
And it can be demos, it can be uncompleted songs. If it's Michael, there's something really magical happening at any time.
We as MJBackstage.be (Brussels, Belgium > do you remember), will promote every song of Michael. Every project which can honor the King of Pop.
The fans will still be there for MJ and the jackson family.
Every time you need, just call our name...and we'll be there.

I absolutely love this song! I think that it is even better now than the original version. Akon did a great job revising the beginning, middle and end. I love the original and have had it for about a year but can not wait to by the new one first thing tomorrow.

When I was a little girl growing up in the late 70's the Jacksons was a big thing in the black community. We appreciated what they given us a dream of possibilities. Then comes Thriller and I can remember the jury curls and the red jacket on Halloween every body wanted to be Michael Jackson. Even my uncle had invited me to a Thriller party where we seen the whole tape from his makeup to the actual video and I was truly amazed at such gift of talent. It had taken me back to when Michael Jackson did the moon walk on stage and I the feeling of seeing him do that I felt like a bird with wings with him. No words can be express of such an artist he was truly one of the kind and nobody can imitate greatness such as he was. I never felt like I did much when he was alive as a black fan but I wanted known he will forever be in my heart. He is my inspiration to my art and he will live forever in music and what he given his fans worldwide.

Thank you TAJ for sharing such a heartfelt memory with us. I've been a fan of your all your uncles and MJ since the J5 first hit the scene. His music was and still remains the soundtrack to my life..and that's alot of years! (smile) I must tell you that from what we can see, your parents did a wonderful job in raising you guys. I remember when they got married like it was yesterday....warm memories. All I can say to you and your brothers is that when the world gets cold and it can get very cold, wrap your minds and hearts around all the love MJ gave to his family and the world. This love is more profound and powerful than you have yet to realize. It's what we the fans do all the time. We have a hard day, we think of MJ and pick a song to get us through. They can call us fanatics if they want to, but when you can go to a warm, peaceful place when you think of someone....it's called L.O.V.E. and that's what MJ will always be to me...to us.
