Happy Birthday Poppa T
Friday, October 15, 2010 at 12:00PM It's my dad's birthday today and I wanted to post this special message about him.
Many of you guys know of my dad, but don't really know the great man he is. He is not only very laid back, but anyone who gets to know my dad, truly loves him. You see, kids learn by watching their parents and my dad was an incredible role model for me. As successful and as famous as he was when I was a kid growing up, my dad always stayed humble and simple.
My dad was a family man with a demanding and sucessful career and I am especially thankful that he was able to balance both so well. He sacrificed his own solo music career to coach our little league baseball teams. He then later sacrifice it again to start our 3T music career. Everyday he worked with us on singing, writing and making harmonies. He showed me and my brothers how to record our own music and taught us on the same exact equipment that he was using to record him and his brothers.
As we get older, we sometimes forget who was really instrumental in who we are today as a human being. As I look back, I have never forgotten the sacrifices my dad made for us. He never wanted anything in return, just for his sons to be happy. I love my dad and the man he was and still is and I wish him an incredible birthday.

If we look back in time, your father did a really good job with your brothers and you. He made some sacrifices in his life just to give you what's most important in life, LOVE. Today is his day and just like you did, let him know you love him and appreciate what he's done for you...it's the best gift you can give a father.

It's not really sacrifices; it's what a great parent does! Your father wanted and wants the best for you and your brothers. Seeing that your child grows up happy and is loved is what makes a happy sucessful adult! From what I have seen of you and your brothers~ i'd say he did an excellent job! I'm sure he is very proud and feels it was worth the 'sacrifices'!

I had the pleasure of very briefly meeting your dad at Planet Hollywood a couple of weeks ago during Jermaine's concert. Even though security was extremely tight, he was extremely gracious to allow me my moment to meet him and give him a kiss on the cheek. As a fan of The Jacksons for over 36 years, obviously it was one of the biggest highlights of my life. The fact that he was SO gracious and humble just made me love and respect him all the more.
